Davenport needs a full-time mayor, one who will be in City Hall working with City Council, Directors, the City

Administrator and attorney during the day, having meetings and trainings with Council that can be attended by the public, livestreamed, and up on the website, with many opportunities to hear from our constituents. That's transparency. That's me.

Saying that you will have evening meetings so the public can attend is not transparent - he admitted when he announced that he is committed to his full-time job at Terracon, a city contractor, and will only be working nights and weekends as mayor (I have the recording).

Nope. not good enough. Not good enough for Davenport.

Davenport deserves and needs a full-time mayor. That's me.

Lee most qualified for mayor position

Support Judith Lee for Mayor of Davenport.

Recently I attended the Mayoral Forum at the MLK Center, Davenport. The four candidates running for mayor talked about why they were interested in the job and then answered questions.

I was very impressed with one candidate — who could answer every question and didn’t resort to hyperbole. That candidate is Judith Lee.

She was very well informed about what is needed to run city government and also has the experience of being on the city council recently.

She was very adamant that the next city council must restore truthfulness and transparency to the people of Davenport. No more secret meetings and backroom deals involving pay-outs to former city employees. The people have the right to know where their tax dollars are being used or abused.

Judith Lee has done her homework and is by far the most qualified candidate running for Mayor of Davenport. Please support Judith in the primary election being held on Oct. 7th.

Judith Lee competent, fierce, deserving of mayor

This mayoral race is crucial for Davenport’s future success. Bipartisanship doesn’t matter nearly as much as accountability. We need someone who is humble, brave, honest, curious, intelligent, creative. This person is Judith Lee.

She is competent and fierce, willing to have difficult conversations with grace and ready to guide the city council efficiently. I appreciate how she has said the mayor actually has very little power, their role is that of a leader who unites and organizes instead of making decisions without the input of elected officials.

I believe Judith won me over above the other three candidates in the mayoral panel when asked what she would do as her FIRST act of mayor. She said she would ensure training is provided to the city council, policy and procedures are discussed and agreed upon, and every meeting or decision is made following the laws and bylaws that have already been established in a timely manner.

The other three candidates were not so memorable. In these answers, Judith shows that she is the most educated, most strategic and most competent candidate ready to make actionable change as soon as possible.

Listen to them all speak, watch the WQAD interviews and decide for yourself. But me? I’m voting for Judith Lee.
